Sensory Technologies (Video Case)
Sensory Technologies is looking to develop and market a wireless point-of-care information system that will allow community healthcare providers in Canada to improve patient care. Currently these service providers rely exclusively on paper - written notes and faxed documents - to manage their patient case-load. Sensory Technologies wants to provide these organizations and their bedside caregivers (such as nurses and physiotherapists) the ability to capture, track, access and analyze critical care data, and then to enable clinicians and business managers access to real-time data. At the time of this case the founders had raised $500,000 from personal and angel investments, and were seeking a second round of funding. This compilation of five video segments can be used to examine how entrepreneurs in start-up mode approach and make a wide range of key decisions.
